EPIC Patch is a subscription-based service created by Advanced Integrated Solutions, Inc. that extends BigFix’s patch catalog and provides frequently updated patching information.

Branding
Logo
My client wanted a modern logo that stood out amongst the generic cybersecurity logos that utilize shields and lock symbols. They also wanted me to incorporate the “E” from “Epic” into the logo in some way.
I decided to play with interlocking geometric shapes that could subtly represent a vulnerability being patched. The concept that emerged was a lowercase “e” that surrounded pieces of a pie. If you look closely, you’ll notice that I was also able to sneak in a “p” within the “e” with tan line work.
Color Palette
Cybersecurity can seem very ominous, clandestine, and mysterious. For the color palette, I wanted to use a powerful but soothing mix of blues and tans to make the logo feel more uplifting and friendly.
Infographic
My client wanted me to create an infographic that could easily explain to potential clients and partners what Epic Patch does and why they should invest in it. The biggest challenge for this project was to make very complicated and technical concepts accessible for the everyday person with simple icons and minimal copy.
In order to take on this endeavor, I spent some quality time researching endpoint management. Following the discovery process, I mapped out BigFix’s endpoint management process and how Epic Patch fills the gap in their patch catalog. I then refined the infographic until it was understandable to my family and friends. After two rounds of of iterations, this was the final product:
